When four become one, great things happen!

Last night we had the honor of being invited for a sneak peek of Stockyards Brewing Co and Kelly's Westport Inn's County Clare Irish Red Ale. It is delicious. Smooth, flavorful, definitely easy to drink but also light coming in at 5.5% abv. Kelly's Westport Inn is celebrating their 70th anniversary this Thursday (August 31st) at 7pm. They wanted to celebrate it with giving back to our community. Kelly's partnered with Stockyards along with Normal Human and The HALO Foundation. Kelly's and Stockyards collaborated and created County Clare, Normal Human created fun shirts, and proceeds will benefit The HALO Foundation. Nick and Chris (Kelly's Westport Inn) had approached Micah and Greg (Stockyards) with the idea back in April. Everyone agreed and the ball started rolling. At first they wanted to do a small batch, but decided to brew more. This means that County Clare will be more accessible in Kansas City and proceeds from these kegs will go towards The Halo Fo

Yesterday morning we had the opportunity to have a sneak peek at Lawrence Beer Co . So we get up early to adventure out to Lawrence, KS. It's pouring down rain! We make it to the car and are SOAKED. Text Matt and tell him we'll be a little late as we weren't expecting these rain forest type showers. Get to Lawrence - not a drop on the ground, dry as a bone, and sunny skies. Go figure. Ha! :) Anyway, we drive through Lawrence to LBCo. and at one point I thought maybe my maps app had put us on the wrong path as we were driving through a neighborhood, but as we make it towards the end of the street we know we are at the right place. The building is beautiful. All original brick from when the building went up in the 1900's. Everyone is inside and out finishing up final touches, working hard and busting ass. The reclaimed wood used for the tables and chairs is amazing. Huge space in the taproom, great looking bar, drop ceilings, and the patio is going to be SO BIG! Th

Strange Days are upon us...

Last night we had the great opportunity to hang out with Nathan from Strange Days Brewing  and let us tell you, he is one really great fella! He was busy working away as we walked into the building. They are still in the construction phase of the brewery, but from listening to the ideas of the set up - it is going to be a fun new regular spot! Strange Days Brewing is made up of three friends - Nathan, Chris, and Alec. They've been friends for awhile and together decided to take the leap. Nathan has been brewing for about 10 years, the other two for about half that time. They've participated in homebrew fests, like Nanobrew, and people really liked what they were putting out. When they were first trying to decide on a location, they first were looking in Waldo. Which would have been great as we're kind of partial, it is our neighborhood too ;) But, with the help of the architect they had been working with, River Market came out ahead. The building they are in is the
